Hi, I'm Ian Gauntt.
I live in Denver, and I write and build every guide you'll find on GoodGuidesStore. I'm not a big company — I'm one person who got tired of watching people I care about feel talked down to, rushed, or embarrassed just for asking how their phone works.
Why these guides exist
It started with my own family. I'd get a call about a phone update that changed everything overnight, or a grandparent who wanted to video-call their grandkids but couldn't find the right button. The instructions that came with the device — when there were any at all — were written for people who already knew what they were doing. That never sat right with me.
So I started writing things down the way I'd actually explain them out loud: one step at a time, in plain words, with no assumptions about what you already know. Those notes turned into the guides on this site.
"Made simple" is the whole point
Technology made simple. One step at a time. That's not just a slogan — it's the rule I hold every guide to before it's allowed on this site. If a step needs a screenshot, it gets one. If a term needs explaining, I explain it right there instead of sending you off to look it up. Nothing here assumes you're careless or behind; it assumes you're busy, and that your time and patience matter.
I write every guide myself, test the steps myself, and update them when an app or a device changes its layout. When something in a guide is wrong or confusing, that's on me to fix — and I do.
